Which PDFs work?
If you can select the words in your PDF, the editor can usually find them and let you change them.
Scanned pages are different. A scan is a photo of a page, so there is nothing to select, only pixels. When that happens the editor tells you instead of pretending to edit it. TeraConvert for Mac reads scans with built-in OCR when you convert them.
How do I edit a PDF on Android?

Why can't I edit the text in Google Drive?
Drive is a viewer. It opens the PDF and it can convert it to a Google Doc, which rebuilds the page and usually loses the layout. It cannot replace text inside the PDF itself. The editor on this page does that and leaves the page as it was.
How do I edit a PDF without paying for a subscription?

Can I fix a typo in a PDF when I don't have the original file?
Yes, and that is usually why people are here. The editor works on the PDF itself, so you do not need the Word file it came from, or the computer it was made on.
Is putting a white box over the wrong text good enough?
Only if nobody looks. A white rectangle hides the old words on screen and leaves them in the file, so they still come out with copy and paste or a text search. Retyping the line removes them, and the redact tool deletes rather than covers.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is never sent to TeraConvert or to a server for editing. It is read and rewritten on your phone.
Is it safe to edit private PDFs with TeraConvert?
That is the whole idea. There is no upload and no cloud processing, so a contract, an invoice, a payslip or a client file never leaves your phone. You can turn off your connection once the page has loaded and keep editing.
What happens to the layout when I retype a line?
The editor reads the original font, size, and colour and writes your replacement in an open font with the same letter widths, so the line does not shift or reflow. You can override the font, size, and colour by hand if you want to.
