Why Convert FLAC to WAV?
FLAC and WAV are both lossless, so this is a container swap, not a quality decision. Plenty of DAWs, samplers, and older hardware read WAV and nothing else, and FLAC's compression, handy as it is for storage, is exactly what trips them up.
Decompress to WAV and the identical audio drops straight into the session.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does converting FLAC to WAV change the audio?
No. Both formats are lossless, so the samples come out identical bit for bit; FLAC simply stored them compressed. You get the exact same audio, only larger and uncompressed.
Why is the WAV so much bigger than the FLAC?
FLAC packs the same audio 40 to 60 percent smaller without discarding a thing. WAV stores raw PCM samples with no compression, so a file that was 25 MB as FLAC lands around 50 MB as WAV.
Will the WAV work in Pro Tools, Logic, and hardware samplers?
Yes. WAV is the common denominator for DAWs, samplers, and broadcast systems, which is the main reason to convert away from FLAC in the first place.
Do the tags like artist and album carry over?
WAV has weak metadata support, so FLAC's Vorbis comments mostly do not survive the trip. That is expected; WAV is a working format, not a library format.
Is this conversion free, and is my file private?
Yes. The conversion runs in your browser tab, nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed. Files up to 100 MB convert here, limited to 3 conversions per day on this path; the desktop app has neither cap.
